Testimony Bordeaux tasting "wine-wind-sea kills off", Markgröningen on 17/10/2008

excuse I've so long reported. Abe had some rich around the ears. But I promise to improve and now you will forever keep you informed. Therefore, here is my first report, followed by some of the still, about my wine experiences.
I hope I still remain loyal reader and writes to me sometimes what you think.

In Markgröningen in Baden-Württemberg is a very good, small French shop has opened. The owner is concerned primarily with Bordeaux and from time to time organizes wine tasting events. I could take a chance at a Bordeaux tasting, where Bordeaux were tasted from the years 1976-1990.
The event took place in-house Wimpelin Markgröningen From that offers a very nice atmosphere by ancient walls and wooden beams. The organizer
served in addition to the specific wines also excellent food. For starters, there was a mushroom terrine with lamb's lettuce, it was a Boeuf Bordelaise and for dessert a crème brûlée that surpassed anything. Of course, everything prepared by the organizers themselves. The crowning glory then offered a small fine selection of cheeses.
Now to the wines. I will be brief, since there were 14 wines that were tasted.
came following wines on the table:

Giscours 3.GCC 1976 Margaux: smell of cherry and raisin flavors of sweet cherry, dried fruit and date. Very harmonious. 1979 Canon St. Emilion
1.GCC: smell of fig, prune, raisin and date. Nutty flavor easily and had a slight Korknote. Has not so convinced.
1983 Rausan-Segla 2.GCC Margaux: smell of rum raisins and cherry liqueur. Flavors of cassis and light mineral notes. This was received very well.
1984 Ducru-Beaucaillou St. Julien 2.GCC: smell of sweet cherry, fig, marmalade and caramel. Taste not as pronounced as odor, slightly flat and bitter. This wine lies a lot to be desired.
Bourgneuf Pomerol 1985: slight smell of bourbon vanilla, and date compote, eextravagant. Taste of cherry, and plum compote, a little over-ripe Fruit rot light touch. 1986 Calon-Segur
3.GCC St. Estephe: smell of wild strawberries. Taste of cherry, tart with a little flavor. To not recommend.
d'Angludet 1986 Margaux CB: smell of cherry compote and ripe cherries. Kirschig taste very juicy. You can drink quite yet, if one of them still has a bottle in the cellar.
1987 Pontet-Canet Pauillac 5GCC: smell of nutmeg and Cassis. Taste of sour cherry and very discordant. Very bad year. To not recommend.
1989 La Louviere Pessac-Leognan: smell slightly sweet, old, cherry and cassis jelly. Taste of rum, sweet, Kischlikör, cassis liqueur and sweet cherry. Average Wine, but still quite drinkable.
1989 Marquis de Terme 4.GCC Maraux: smell very fruity, jam and cherries. Taste of juicy cherry and cassis and plum compote. Very good wine and very good year. Recommended.
1989 Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande Pauillac 2.GCC: smell of cherry, cassis and a hint of vanilla. Very juicy taste of cherry and cassis. Very well received and highly recommended. Les Ormes de Pez 1990
CB St. Estephe: smell of blackberry, blueberry and black cherry. Taste velvety soft and slightly sweet after Rumsonie. Also very well received and recommended.
1990 Saint Pierre 4.GCC St. Julien: smell of juicy cherry and cassis. And juicy taste of cherry and Cassis. Not as good as the previous one, but definitely still good to drink.

The culmination of a bot: Raymond-Lafon Sauternes
1988: An incredible taste experience. Golden in the glass and the fragrance to seduce Trochenfrüchten and raisin nose. In the mouth a taste explosion of senses, beautifully silky soft and sweet to playful lychee and raisin. An absolute vintage wine, which his peers are looking only once.

Overall a very successful and cheerful evening and very instructive, to the diversity of wines. You get a very good overview of Bordeaux from different backgrounds, ages and quality. Absolutely recommended event, but there is only one select number of people invited, as it will gibt.Ich of each wine was a bottle next time try to have this opportunity again and report here.

Regards
Esther
